I stumbled across this video earlier today, and have since watched it over and over again throughout the day. So many thoughts and emotions come to mind, wishes and dreams too, especially after reading through the story behind the video.
I’ll spare you my interpretation, and just ask that you watch the video. It really puts life into perspective. Much more than my words can at this point in time….
Life has been relentless as of late, but luckily a touch of the flu-bug gave me pause this weekend, for the first time in a long time. Matt’s story reminds me that it’s all too easy to get caught up in the rush of life, yet surprisingly easy to step away from it all. It’s just a question of what is most important to you: the ‘job of your dreams’ or the ‘experience of a lifetime’.
As always, at least with me, the truth lies somewhere in between. But I’ve been looking to leave the world as I know it for a while now: to get out and see something new on one hand, but also (and much more importantly) to settle down and plant some roots. Moving to San Francisco opened my eyes more than I ever thought possible, and now I’m hungry for what comes next….
I don’t have it all worked out, and don’t feel any particular rush to do so, but I do have the rough outlines. And it all feels really, really good.
More soon.
