Thanks for your comment, but I wholeheartedly disagree. That "[t]here is no current or anticipated content discrimination or service degradation" is a moot point, and hardly the one I was trying to make.

We must continue to affirm our rights by speaking our minds. We have seen what seven years of "faith in the system" can bring, and I for one am not prepared to sit back and watch it happen again to the one medium that remains out of your control. And yes, you and your organization are one in the same with the media companies I mention above. Let's be clear here, "Hands off the Internet" is just another one of their (meaning big business, big money) patented "Clear Skies" initiatives.

To be perfectly blunt, the mere fact that you hide behind a false front proves that your idea has no merit on its own.

Scott, I follow the Net Neutrality debate in my work with the Hands Off the Internet coalition. The bottom line is that new net neutrality regulations are unnecessary.

There is no current or anticipated content discrimination or service degradation justifying new regulation and proponents of new regulations have failed to provide any evidence to back up their speculation of what "could" happen. Additionally, all of these calls neglect the fact that anti-trust and consumer protection laws exist should any of these hypothetical situations actually occur.

A logical approach is that recently noted by FTC Chairwoman Deborah Majoras that without evidence of “market failure or demonstrated consumer harm, policy makers should be particularly hesitant to enact new regulation in this area.”
